Sketch Hike: Historic Huntley

Join park naturalist and artist Margaret Wohler for a hike through history. Meet at the Norma Hoffman Visitor Center and hike up to Historic Huntley for some breathtaking views while sketching some of the Mason family villa's historic architecture and landscaping.

Join us on top of Alexandria at Historic Huntley as we celebrate the rare solar eclipse! What were the myths and superstitions behind the history of humans viewing eclipses? Why do solar and lunar eclipses happen? Come and enjoy this fascinating astronomical event with fun experiments, storytelling, safely view the solar eclipse and create crafts to take home.

* Twilight Hilltop Tour

Historic Huntley sits high upon a hill overlooking Hybla Valley and Huntley Meadows Park. It's a dramatic setting made all the more stunning by the setting sun. Join us after hours for a special tour and see the house in a different light. Light refreshments served afterward. Dress appropriately for the weather.
